CLC attended an urgent burst main at around 04.00 am on the 21/12/2019 located on a bridge that crossed on a highly trafficked road in Hertfordshire (A10).
Given the works location and engineering complexity of the works, our experienced Supervisors worked in close collaboration with local highways and the client, to co-ordinate and manage efficient execution of the works minimising disruption to road users and members of the public.
During our diagnostic audit of the work, we detected the UPVC the damage inflicted by the burst travelled the full length of existing pipework, this enabled CLC to significantly reduce the site occupancy times associated with the remedial action, and allowed early opening of the road a reduction in customers access to clean water.
The bridge deck structure was carefully removed during the works aiding the reuse of valuable materials, replacement of high specification membranes was also identified and remediated.
